What I appreciate most on the State of the Union?

First - that it exists. We have nothing like this in the Czech Republic. Only once a year our President holds a speech which is full of phrases and takes only 10 or 15 minutes.

And of course President of European Commision tried to have something like State of European Union - but honestly - nobody's paying attention to this and it was rather ridiculous than popular or respected.

State of the Union is something unseen in the Czech Republic even in Europe, I guess.

Citizen number one, the President shaking hands with everybody in the room. During his speech being interrupted by standing ovations - and not only from his supporters but many times from opposite members of Congress.

It is a big event and it is worth of attention from here not only because of positive beginning but also for sentences and words like this:
- citizens don't expect government will solve every problem
- greatest nation on Earth (and you know, each nation in the World can be the greatest in the same way as each mother can be)
- not bigger but smarter government
- magnet for new jobs
- best products and best ideas

I liked this speech for its focus on future possibilities (like 3D printing etc.); for putting concrete plans and numbers; for these single individuals who were standing up for something what they had agreed even if everybody around them had not; for talking topics like cyber threats; for thanking his wife and saying her 'honey' before the eyes of the whole World.

In European Union we of course welcome better trading conditions with America.

But which other phrases from this speech would we need here in Europe?
- we can fix this in we will
- come together
- self government
- we all share the same titles - we are citizens

And what was the best on State of the Union?

That the main elected official, the President shows to each nation people who can be the example for others, the citizens who did something exceptional during last year. And yes - this is something what we should still remind ourselves and behave according to it - "citizens are authors of the next great chapter of the United States."

Why I love America?

You now, I come from a country where freedom is just an anomaly through all its history. We were free for 20 years as Czechoslovakia from 1918-1938 and we have formally freedom now - from 1989 (so 22 years). People here are not free. Yes they have freedom by laws but they are not free in their minds. And that is the most important. And that is why I love United States of America - because you - as Americans - you are free! So why I write this blog?

I very often watch what is now happening in America. You are losing your freedom! Not only by laws but in your minds! And how is this happening? You now - I don't have proves of it (even I believe we could find them) - but it is only my intuitive personal conspiracy. Communists and other types of totalitarians (and of course some of them think it good and many of them are made to belive they do good) found out that they cannot totaly transform America through violent revolution. Yes - you have the 2nd amendment - it's reason too. But you just aren't so stupid. Your moral values aren't so degraded. You have your faith, your honesty, your American dream.

So they had to find new strategy how to do it. And how they did? Media, universities, Hollywood. And of course - naive left-wing politicians. I remember there was a research which said that most Americans do not identify themselves with Hollywood values. But you know what? Your children are feeded with that! (Not only yours, it's all over the world). So they slowly - and totally transform America. American society.

Again, some of them though it good but the consequences aren't good. (Many people in Czechoslovakia also believed socialists and communists - also very clever and educated people). So yes - it's happening - they transform your American dream from life, liberty and pursuit of happines through American dream of food stamps and a society of entitlements. And from experience from another parts of the world, esp. from Europe - I say that it is fundamentally wrong way!

If you want more understand why I so much love your country, this experiment called America listen to the speech of (I hope sometime) your future president Marco Rubio from CPAC 2012!

Thank you so much for keeping America as it was and God Bless You!
